Sarah Wilson

Sarah Wilson is currently a senior at the University of South Florida. She works as a video lab assistant for the school of Mass Communications, managing video equipment and helping upper-level students with video editing. She also works at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, ticketing the many shows passing through the bay area, and interning with the video production staff.  In her free time, she pursues independent film-making; her films have been featured in the Gasparilla Film Festival, the Central Florida Film festival, and the Independents Film Festival (where she received a Florida Choice Award). Upon receiving my undergraduate degree from USF, she plans on attending a graduate school for film production.

With the looming costs of graduate film school in mind, Sarah began looking for scholarship opportunities appropriate to her skill area. She stumbled across Safety Scholars web page and was immediately motivated to get involved in the contest not only because it could help pay for college, but also because Bridgestone’s message is one of great importance and relevance to her life, as well as the life of anyone who drives a car.

Sarah is a two-time Bridgestone Safety Scholars video contest winner. Eventually, she would love to work in the television/film industry either as a director or producer — a pretty lofty goal, but one that is achievable through hard work, determination and a little luck.
